Now sticking to New Year’s resolutions won’t be hard at all.
New Year is all about new beginnings and a new you! We all aim at making ourselves better with every New Year, but at the end of the year we look back and realize that we failed miserably. But not this year! Here are some ways to keep up with your New Year’s resolutions:
Make a Realistic Resolution
First of all, your resolution should be realistic. You cannot promise yourself something which you cannot achieve in a year. If you are confused about which oath you should take, think about those changes in your life that will improve your overall health, life and also make a positive impact on your mind. Bottom line: don’t aim too high!
Start with Baby Steps
Don’t start big! Start small, make a plan and follow it. Just assign yourself a task that brings you closer to your aim and whatever you assign should be achievable in a day as only you know your true potential. So, start with small but meaningful steps.
Do it in the Morning
According to a study, simple habits form more quickly in the morning. When you wake up in the morning, the level of hormone cortisol is highest. Marion Fournier, the author of one study, explains, “Cortisol elevation changes the mechanism in our brain- it blocks the prefrontal cortex, meaning behavior becomes habitual.”
Always Keep Track
There are certain apps which can track your progress. You can use an app or write a diary to track your progress. People who keep track of their daily achievements tend to do better even if they are not serious about their resolutions.
