Institute of Fashion & Communication Technology IFCT inaugurated at Kharar

Kharar, District Mohali:
Justice Vinod K. Sharma, Lokpal Punjab, inaugurated the Institute of Fashion & Communication Technology (IFCT) at Kharar today. The Institute, IFCT, a fashion institute started by The Lifestyle Magazine, has been set up in collaboration with Rayat Bahra University, Kharar, District Mohali as an industry-academia project. The institute has been set up to provide top class fashion education integrated with latest industry practices for students. Special guests at the event included former Mayor and President, BJP Chandigarh Mr. Arun Sood, Mr Umesh Ghai, Councillor, MC Chandigarh. RBU Chancellor S. Gurwinder Singh Bahra was present at the occasion along with deans and directors of RBU and fashion department students. IFCT offers degree and diploma programs in the areas of Fashion and Mass Communication including BSc-Fashion Design, BSc Fashion Management, BA (Mass Communication & Journalism), Diploma in Makeup & Beauty Therapy, Diploma in Photography and PhD programs in fashion. The dignitaries were warmly welcomed by the faculty and students with a special cultural performance and followed by the ribbon cutting ceremony to inaugurate the department.

“These students have a bright career. We had limited choices during our student days. Today even a small child has a sense of style and is keen in this area,” said Justice Vinod K Sharma during his speech. He encouraged the students to work hard and carve a niche for themselves.  

 “IFCT is a unique platform where students have access to best industry practices which are integrated in academics. We have received excellent response for our programs this year. The institute has excellent faculty members, infrastructure and labs, in addition to a strong-industry oriented curriculum,” said Dr Neha Miglani, Director, IFCT.
