Kiara Advani has bewitched the audience and made her presence felt in M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, she has interesting future plans in Bollywood! As she explores opportunities coming her way, she talks to TLJ about her passion for acting and more. Let’s start her interview.

Kiara Advani’s Wonderful Journey

Was acting always your forte? How do you find the life of an actor?

Kiara Advani: Acting was always my passion. There was never a plan B! People think that an actor’s life is all glamorous but there’s a lot more to it than what meets the eye. Yes, we do have perks of designers sending us beautiful garments and all the love that we get from fans but that’s all a result of long hours of hard work, dedication, and discipline. At home, I’m a normal girl who helps my mum with household chores, and I hang out with my friends like any other girl of my age.

How do you treat competition in the sense of fetching good movies?

Kiara Advani: I’ve always taken the positives from life. When I see my contemporaries give an outstanding
performance, I am inspired to challenge myself and work to the best of my ability.

One dream project/movie you wish to do, and with whom?

Kiara Advani: It’s too difficult to have just one! I’m ambitious like that. I would love to do a romantic comedy, a
period drama, a slice of life film, an action film and the list will go on….I hope to work with YRF, Dharma Productions, Sajid Nadiadwala sir, Sanjay Leela Bhansali sir, Raju Hirani sir, Zoya Akhtar, and Imtiaz Ali among others. I really admire Salman sir, Shah Rukh sir, Akshay Kumar, Hrithik Roshan, Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh and Varun Dhawan. I will consider myself lucky if I get a chance to work with them in future.

You will soon be making your Telugu debut. What are your views on vernacular, parallel
cinema?

Kiara Advani: I think films like Baahubali have proved that language is no longer a barrier for cinema. Also, these days, films are dubbed in all languages. Speaking of my Telugu debut, it’s my first film with a mega superstar, Mahesh Babu and I’m looking forward to this experience. I’m sure it will only enrich me as a performer.

Share the response you received from the audience for ‘M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story’?

Kiara Advani: The feedback was absolutely overwhelming. I still receive compliments for my performance
from both the audience and people from the industry. I feel extremely blessed!

Kiara Advani: Dhoni The Untold Story

The wackiest thing you remember you have done so far!

Kiara Advani: The most exhilarating experience I have had was on a holiday with my family when I went bareback horse riding in the Caribbean Sea. It was absolutely wild as I was on a horse without a saddle swimming in the sea. It was an amazing experience that I ticked off my bucket list!

What has your parent’s role been in your career?

Kiara Advani: My parents have been my backbone, they keep me grounded and motivated. I’m blessed that they have supported me completely. They are my constructive critics and also my most loyal fans.

Is there any social cause close to your heart?

Kiara Advani: Education has always been a priority. I hope to make a change in whatever capacity I can to
ensure maximum children and youngsters are given the right to education.

What is the one thing you would like to change in your life graph of past if you had a choice?

Kiara Advani: Absolutely nothing! Looking back I realize that every single experience, choice, and incident has
shaped me into the person I am today and I wouldn’t have it any other way. If you never make mistakes you will never learn, and if you taste success and have your feet firm on the ground then you’re on the right path.

What makes you say that you are single till you tie a knot? Is there a reason behind your sense of privacy or is it just the way you are as a person?

Kiara Advani: I understand that when you are a public figure people want to know everything about you, and that’s absolutely fine when it only involves you but when other people, who may not be public figures are involved, then it is not fair to drag them into the spotlight.

Who is Kiara in a routine day? Things you would do on an off work day at home?

Kiara Advani: On a day off, I spend my mornings going to the gym, dance class or kick boxing. I love eating home food, watching a movie or TV show on Netflix, going with my mum to the salon and maybe even helping her get the groceries, cleaning my cupboard, which is always a mess, spending time with my girlfriends at home or one of our favorite restaurants. I do everything you can imagine a girl my age would do.

Why the name change from Alia to Kiara? Any special reason?

Kiara Advani: Alia will always be my name and Kiara is my screen name.

Who is the contemporary actor (female) whom you admire in the film industry today and why?

Kiara Advani: Alia Bhatt! Her body of work speaks a lot about her. She’s young and has some amazing roles to
her credit.

What is your definition of an ideal man?

Kiara Advani: My ideal man would be one who is loyal, loving, considerate, hardworking, family-oriented, well
groomed. He should love to travel, have good sense of humour and style.

Is there something that you want to change about yourself?

Kiara Advani: If I’m not on a film set, I’m lazy. My friends complain I never get out enough and that I’m too
home bound. I hope to change that. I wish I have the same energy when I am not working.
