Excess of both sitting and standing can be hazardous. The key is optimization. Usually, professionals with long-standing hours continue standing, and those with long sitting hours continue to do so over long hours.
So, wherever overuse happens, the same posture can create problems.
Sitting every day for extended periods will have its issues. Our body needs variation in whatever work we are doing. If our job requires an extended sitting or standing period, we have to find ways to counter those effects. One has to balance it out by finding ways to sit and stand during work hours. There is no absolute solution to this.

What are the most common posture-related issues you encounter when standing for long hours at your workstation ?

It primarily affects your legs, back, and ankles. So many medical problems come up when we continue standing in one place.Be it a party where there is prolonged standing or performing some surgery, these issues come up. Sometimes, surgeons need to perform surgery for long hours, for instance, 8-10 hours at a stretch. It creates medical problems for doctors and residents. Even if the doctors go for a 5-step walk, they break that monotony and return to their position.Similarly, if you go out for a social gathering, rather than standing for three hours at a wedding function, you can sit in between them, meet two friends, and then go to the next group.

So, a constant position is wrong. Now, regarding incorporating homoeopathy remedies or other alternate therapies into your routine to manage the physical strain or standing for standing periods, one must understand that homoeopathy has a unique effect and is patient-specific, so if we get a patient with a standing posture issue. You give him medicine, depending on what kind of work he is doing, what his weight is, and what other parameters are, and we can help him get out of that trouble faster.If his lower back muscles are weak, we can give him medicine which will work on his lower back muscles. Additionally, some exercises will be given to reduce physical pain.

In Japan and countries like the U.S., standing stations have been shared. Someone said that “chair is the worst invention in the world”, but when the chair was invented, they said the chair is the best invention in the world!

Standing stations are a common cultural feature in other countries. How have you adapted to this aspect of your work environment, and what cultural practices or insights have influenced your approach to standing for long periods ?

A combination of both has to be achieved- a balance during our work hours. We must have a lifestyle modification program incorporating an excellent full-body exercise workout. We must keep various movements ingrained in our routine to achieve better health.
