Monica has been one of the most influential Spanish bloggers and models for several years now. Best known on Social Media platform Instagram as Monica de tomas for her personal style and beauty, her feeds are a magical mix of her daily life, her outfits, her passion for a healthy lifestyle and her trips around the world. She received the “Golden Thimble” for ‘Best Professional Trajectory Model’ and has been a muse for noted Spanish fashion designer Elio Berhanyer for nearly ten years. She has also been the perfect face and model for TAG Heuer brand! Her blog “Monimoleskine” won ‘The Bloggers and Divinity Award’in April 2014 in the category ‘The best national blog related to luxury’. In February 2017, she received ‘The diamond of excellence for her fashion trajectory’ for Luxury Spain. With a string of achievements to her credit, here is peep into her world!
How did you start your journey as a model?
I was around ten years old when I realized that buying fashion magazines and trying to wear my mother’s shoes was my passion, it was then that my dream to be a model commenced.
Who is your icon in the fashion world?
If we talk about my icons from the past then it would be Audrey Hepburn and Jackie Kennedy. Elle MacPherson and Christy Turlington are no doubt my references in the 80’s.
One sweet or interesting memory from your childhood that you still remember?
I have very good old memories like painting at my parent’s garden and practicing ballet all the time.
How much is privacy important for you in this age of social media?
For sure it is important but I do understand that it is my duty and I need to go through it. It is part of the job that I love to handle it.
What does beauty mean to you?
Beauty is part of our business card;it means respect and self-love for me.

What is the best and the worst thing about being a model?
Travelling and knowing different people and cultures all across the globe is certainly the best thing ever! I love to travel. Being constantly judged by the media is something tough to manage!
What advice would you give to a 16-year-old you?
Don’t give up and keep learning!

At this moment of my life I could say Mike is my partner in crime at 3 a.m. as he is insomniac.
Do you watch TV shows? If yes which is your all-time favorite show?
Sex and the City! I am not really into TV shows now but if I have to choose any I could say Jimmy Fallon and James Corden are my favorite showmen at the moment.
