Did you know that you can trick your hunger pangs? There are some superfoods which can control hunger pangs which usually trouble us before lunch and late in the evening. Let’s take a look at them:

Flax Seeds

Eating flax seeds can keep us fueled and satiated throughout the day. They are a nutritional mix of soluble fiber and essential fatty acids. Flax seeds are a perfect addition to yogurt, smoothie or a salad.

Avocado

Avocado is on top of our list as it contains monounsaturated fats which take enough time to get digested and can keep us full throughout the day. This fruit is an excellent source of fiber which on its way to gut creates a thick gel, which further promotes slow digestion. Avocados are not only yummy but also versatile. You can slice them easily and enrich your salads and sandwiches.

Green Tea

Catechins present in the green tea help to inhibit the movement of glucose into fat cells, which slows the rise of blood sugar and prevents high insulin and subsequent fat storage. And when your blood sugar is more stable, you feel less hungry. Along with keeping your hunger pangs at bay, green tea also helps in weight loss. Isn’t that a bonus offer!

Ginger

Because of its amazing digestive powers, ginger root has remained an essential part of the diet in many cultures. Ginger is a common ingredient in almost every Indian dish. It works as a stimulant that energises the body and improves digestion, thus makes you feel less hungry. You can eat raw ginger if you want as it is even more beneficial than eating it in dishes.

Oatmeal

Oatmeal is the most recommended power breakfast by food bloggers. But how exactly does it control hunger? Oatmeal is enriched with beta-glucans which is a soluble fiber. It creates a thick paste which gets digested slowly and keeps our tummy full.

Almonds

No doubt, our parents used to force-feed us almonds. Almonds are a rich source of antioxidants, vitamin E, and magnesium. According to the study presented at the 2006 Obesity Society Annual Scientific Meeting, almonds can help suppress appetite and subsequently help with weight management.

Never urge yourself to indulge in too many calories. Calm your appetite by adding more fiber content in your diet which includes products like Quinoa, Amaranth, Flax seeds, Chia Seeds, Portion of Veggies etc. and always consult your dietitian for balancing the nutrients and vitamins amount.”
