After delivering a hit in Fukrey Returns last year, actor Pulkit Samrat is back in news. The trailer of his upcoming film Veere Ki Wedding has released a day before and it has got mixed reviews from the audience.
But the reaction apart, the film did get a lot of attention since its title was confused for Veere Di Wedding, another film starring Sonam Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania and produced by Rhea Kapoor. Veere Ki Wedding, on the other hand, stars Kriti Kharbanda and Jimmy Sheirgill along with Pulkit.
While Bollywood fans keenly look forward to box office clashes between films, here, we an interesting title clash that has been in news ever since the trailer released today. At the launch event today, Pulkit was asked if choosing the title similar to a film already in buzz was a deliberate move to tap on the familiarity.
But the actor cleared the air and said, “5 movies had released on Bhagat Singh. Same title, same story. For us at least the story is different. The makers had the title already. And what I feel is that both are different films. So once we are done with ‘Veerey Ki Wedding’, we’ll definitely look forward to ‘Veere Di Wedding”. So now that we know that there is nothing common between the two film except for the title, we hope the comparisons and speculations stop right there
Pulkit and Kriti’s Veere Ki Wedding is an action-packed drama revolving around the lead couple’s wedding. Jimmy plays an important role in the film and he is one of the reasons why the wedding can finally happen after much brouhaha. The film is extensively shot in Delhi and directed by Ashu Trikha and locked for a March 9 release. Sonam and Kareena’s Veere Di Wedding, on the other hand, is set for a June release date.
