Keep yourself hydrated always

Drinking less water is hazardous to health and it can lead to serious dehydration. Well we all know this, but how many of us follow the 12 glass a day rule? Dehydration causes fatigue, headaches, skin problems, low blood pressure, muscle cramps, and a rapid heart. Here is a list of fruits and vegetables which contains a decent amount of water and will keep you hydrated!

Cucumber
Water content- 95%

Cucumbers are a great and healthy option and they keep you highly hydrated. They contain a lot of water (95%) and are rich in some nutrients such as vitamin K, potassium and magnesium. Additionally they are low in calories, so, for those who are trying to lose weight, it is a great option to eat. They are also easy to incorporate in diets in the form of salads. Some people prefer to eat them separately. You can add them to curd too!

Melons and
Watermelons
Water content- 95%

Watermelon is a fantastic source of water in summers as it contains a superb 92% of water content. Per cup it only serves 46 calories which are quite good, it gives you fiber, nutrients, vitamin C, vitamin A, and magnesium in a single serve. To add more watermelon is also rich in antioxidants. In summers especially watermelons are easily available. However, one needs to be careful of the vendors where they are produced from since most watermelons are sweetened artificially and lead to stomach upsetting issues. Watch out where you buy them from!

Strawberries
Water content-91%

Not only are strawberries pretty to look at but they have a lot of fiber, disease-fighting anti-oxidants, vitamins, minerals, and manganese. Eating strawberries daily is great for you as it decreases inflammation, and protects you against heart diseases, and diabetes. What is more amazing is that strawberry contains about 91% of water content.

Soup

Water Content- 92%

Soups are a great treat not just in winters but summers too. First, they promote weight loss and this might of interest to many. According to some studies, people who consume soup before eating the main course are more likely to consume fewer calories from their main course as their stomach is full! Healthy Soups(like clear soup) are made of water mainly (92%), and keep you hydrated and are a much healthier option. You can increase the nutrition value of your soup by adding lots of vegetables like broccoli, carrots, mushrooms, and tomatoes.

Oranges
Water content- 88%

Oranges contain vitamin C and potassium which can boost your immune function and heart health. There are many benefits of oranges, oranges contain a good amount of water and fiber which keeps a person full. Generally, eating citrus fruits such as oranges also protects a person against kidney stones. The citric acid present in them can flush out calcium oxalate which creates kidney stones. Oranges contain about 88% of water content.

Skimmed Milk
Water content- 87%

Milk?! Well some of you would want to frown! Skimmed milk is great for health, opine many nutritionists. Skimmed milk contains a fair amount of calcium, riboflavin, vitamin B12 (is really important for the normal functioning of the nervous system), phosphorus and potassium.
Studies have also shown that low-fat milk really helps people stay hydrated after a strenuous (extensive) exercise as compared to other sports drink. So, this summer you should opt for a healthier alternative.

Yogurt
Water content- 95%

Yogurt is a food that promotes good health; it contains proteins, several minerals, and vitamins, calcium, phosphorus and potassium which are good for bones.
Avoid eating flavored yogurt as it contains sugar which is unhealthy. Plain yogurt is made up of 75 % water content. Try to include yogurt at least once in a day in your meal.

Cottage Cheese
Water content- 80%

About 80% weight of cottage cheese is derived from the water! Yes, cottage
cheese contain 19% calcium, 31% selenium, is a also great source of vitamin B12, and keeps metabolism and brain healthy. Well, your favorite cheese has so many benefits that you were not aware of! Avoid oily and greasy cheese which serves no health benefit. One needs to check the cheese contents and ingredients carefully.
