Acne prone skin is a condition that affects skin in early teens and adulthood. Maintaining a blemish free skin and getting rid of acne is an achievable task. Here, are some preventive and corrective measures to counter this problem.

Cleansing

The most important thing that you should include in your beauty regime is cleansing. It is essential to remove dust, dirt, pullouts and makeup which can clog pores and results in aggravated acne. Use a water-based cleanser every night before going to bed. Exfoliate once a week, it will remove dead skin cells as well as stubborn blackheads. Follow up with dabbing some toner on your face using cotton.

Essential Oils

Know your skin type and start using essential oils. They are an excellent healer for acne and remove the scars. Tea tree oil and lavender oil are best when it comes to acne control. Jojoba oil is also beneficial and gives your skin a healthy glow.

Do Not Touch

Your hands are the carrier of several invisible germs. Hence, you should keep them away from your face. Touching your face can directly transfer dirt from your hands to your face. Also, touching your acne with your hands can lead to stubborn marks. Be patient with your zits. Do not succumb to your temptations, self-control is indispensable.

Sunscreen

A sunscreen with at least SPF 30+ is important to protect your skin from harmful UV rays. Also, acne gets worse under the sun. Invest in a good quality sunscreen that can add a protective layer to your skin. If you are allergic to products, consult your dermatologist to zero down on the perfect sunblock for you.

Moisture

The most common mistake people make is when they do not moisturise their skin. Purchase a moisturiser according to your skin type. Gel-based and lighter formulas are good for oily skin. You can opt for cream moisturisers too, especially ones which are enriched with aloe vera. If you have dry skin, opt for intense moisturiser enriched with cocoa and shea butter.
